Quilts in My Home - Denim Shirt Large Coaster
I used denim shirts and up cycled them to make this large coaster for my coffee table. I stitched the triangle scraps onto 2 layers of denim shirt fabric with a piece of cotton batting in between. The quilting is just where I stitched the triangles. Then I stitched around the outside edge and clipped to let it fray! Washed it and dried it so the raw edges would fray too. It measures about 10" X 10". It could be used as a hot pad also.

Quilts in My Kitchen
- Covered an old bulletin board with fabric.
- Added the wall hanging and family photos.
- Look like a quilt to me!
- Don't Spit sign? Jewels lived in Taiwan while in college and brought me back this sign. They have these all over, because of the air pollution people spit and they have to post signs, so they don't spit.
Made a quilt for the butcher block using old dishtowels (Up Cycled them). Check out the center of the quilt in the next photo.
I embroidered a white dishtowel at a quilt guild gathering. Then I added borders of new and old dish towels and vintage flour sack fabric. I used an old linen table cloth for the back of it!
I will take a photo of the back and add it here when I get home tonight. I quilted it off center so you can see the hem. That way you can tell it was a tablecloth. Up cycled it!
Here's my woven basket that Mom and I made in November of 2010. Great place to store the paper napkins. Some people use the baskets for their mail.
Squeezed into the corner is a plastic grocery bag dispenser.
Added just a few photos to the refrigerator.
and here it is up close... looks like a quilt to me!
Favorite saying and favorite magnet!
Ritch likes it too, as it is a nice reminder!

My Tiny Treasures Quilt - My Name Quilt!
Marcia Ellen Wachuta - MEW
Midnight Blue, Evening Blue, and Wild Watermelon are perfect colors for my name.
I love blue and it is nice to have a bit of reddish. I think it adds interest!
- Used variation of my Scattered Quilt Pattern, I constructed a small quilt.
- I quilted it with my name all over the quilt in a wavy design.
- Video of the quilting at Work in Progress - The Quilting.
- The quilt measures 30" X 32".
- Binding with an all machine embroidery binding and added a hanging sleeve on the top.
- Hung it on the wall behind my quilting machine.
I added all my tiny treasures..... Pins from quilting events and pins from when I was a teacher. Pins from Relay for Life including a photo of my Dad who died of cancer in 1996. My Mom is currently battling cancer. I pinned up my tiny crocheted items that I made years ago. Then I added charms, pins, and necklaces from four generations of my family. They all have special meanings. As I was going thru' my treasures, I found the little beaded pins from the 90's! Can you see the American Flag and the Packer G? I decided to group the items, but I certainly could have just put them up in any order.
What a delightful quilt project and the perfect spot for all the little memorabilia from the past. As I find more items, I will proudly display them on my quilted wall hanging.
Ok --- I know I said only a few words, BUT this one needed a description and I didn't type, I copied and pasted from my post on Project Quilting - My Tiny Treasures Quilts - It's all in the Initials .

Quilts in My Home - Flag Day June 14th - Postcard Flags
Several years ago I made these paper pieced postcard flag quilts.
I made several of them and shared them with friends who have daughters or sons in the military.
