This week I am very thankful I live in a wonderful country. a country that allows people to have opinions and have control over their own businesses. 

I recently read a story online that said a "high end" restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA is planning to ban children under the age of 7. I don't know about all the other mommies that read this blog but I would be sure to make a reservation there for every special occasion for my husband and myself. 

Don't get me wrong, I love my son very much and he can be an angel ( <------- see over there) but when we decide to go out on a date and have a nice dinner, especially at a "high end" place, I sure don't want to be disturbed by my child and especially not by anyone else's child. 

I know there are people out there who think their children are so well behaved that they can take them anywhere. For the most part my child is well behaved when out to eat, but he can go from behaved to out of control in about 3 seconds. I know this is true for most children. I don't think it is a bad idea for all parents to leave their children at home when going out to a nice dinner, for the sake of themselves and the sake of other people who are there to enjoy their dinner.

Singing in the Rain

Today I am thankful for all the rain we have gotten as of late. Colorado is so prone to wildfires and all the rain is making the fire danger much better. I feel so sorry for all the people in other western and south western states and their drought situations. I have had friends that have had to evacuate from their homes due to fire and my hubby's family who live in Houston have seen very long stretches without rain. Even though the rain often delays my traffic, I am still thankful for every drop that falls from the sky!

Today I am thankful for the soaking rain we just got here in Castle Rock. I am hoping this keeps the fire danger down for the fireworks that will be happening this weekend.  My boys and I sat out on our patio and watched the lightening and rain.  These are the memories that will never leave my mind, I love spending time with my family and I am thankful for them each and every day! Thank you Lord for the wonderful rain!!

Celtic Tree of Life

This week (and every week) I am very thankful for our families. My husband and I both have wonderful, supporting, loving and caring families. I know we both feel the love and support each time we talk to anyone in either family and we are so thankful. The one thing I know in life is that family is everything, They are your very first support system and they love you unconditionally. I have friends that don't have a close relationship with their family and they often feel a void in their life.
I would like to thank our families for all the love and support they give us everyday, we would not be the people we are without all of you!

Thankful Thursday - Things I love

Today I am thankful for all the things that are keeping me going this week.

1. Coffee - you are always there in the morning to give me a little boost! You are the perfect vehicle for my favorite flavored creamer!

2. Water - Every morning you help wake me up in the shower, you are helping me flush out all the crap in my system and by drinking a lot of you each day I am provided with ample opportunities to get up from my desk for much needed breaks I would otherwise forget about.

 3. iPod Touch - You provide some much needed distractions at the end of my day. Music is such an escape for me and all the games are a great mindless activity.

4. My boys!! These two guys put up with me every day and still love me at the end of each one. That are the light in my life, they make me smile, laugh out loud and make me proud to call myself their wife and mama.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am very thankful for my mom. She had surgery on her foot today because of her Diabetes. I am so thankful that the surgery went well and that her foot will now be stable. I am thankful for her surgeon and his knowledge and great job he did on her foot. She is a great mom and grandma!!

Today I am thankful for Herbal Tea. I know this is a shallow choice but when you are going through a weight loss program you find all the little things to be thankful for each day. Herbal tea is actually helping me out so much on this program. I have always been a big soda drinker (mostly diet soda), but since I have discovered my new love for herbal tea I am a changed woman. I drink water all day at work and when I get home at night I just want something with some flavor. If you are also going through a weight loss program or just want to change things up a bit, I highly recommend trying your favorite flavor of herbal tea hot or iced!

My Boys are the Best

As I sit here at home this week on spring break with my son, I remember all the things I am thankful for. I am thankful for the freedom I am afforded by living in this great country. I am thankful to have a safe place to live and food on my table each night. I am thankful to have a wonderful husband that loves me (even if I am 90 pounds overweight) and a happy, healthy child. I am thankful to have a great loving family (aunts, uncles, cousins, and all my in-laws). I am thankful for my faith in god and all he sees me through. These are the things I am thankful for each day of my life, but since I am counting points for WW, most of all today I am thankful for enough points to have a yummy snack tonight!!
