If you are one of the fans of How About Orange, then you know that Jessica Jones has a new line of fabric called Outside Oslo. And if you have not yet read her blog, you definitely should check it out, if for no other reason than the funny "comment" conversations between Jessica and her mother, Grandma G! But besides that, Jess posts some really great links and free downloads (like this one) that I wouldn't find otherwise.
ETA: Check out Jessica's post from today. I'm not even joking. Talk about some DIY orangey-goodness! Click over there right now. But do NOT forget to come back here!
She has designed a lot of really fabulous fabric in the past (check them all out here). Jacquie from Tallgrass Prairie Studio recently used it to spruce up her sewing room, and check out my mouse pad and scrap bucket.
I use this bag all the time.
Jessica's designs are classic and modern at the same time, clean lines with kind of a retro feel, and the fabric is home dec weight, so it's perfect for bags, pillows, all kinds of projects where you need a little extra body to your fabric.
So I have been anxiously waiting for Outside Oslo. Because I'm fortunate enough to be good friends with Grandma G, these arrived in my mailbox last week.
It briefly crossed my mind to frame this one. I know some of you are thinking, "Seriously??" Um, yes.
It was the wrong time of day to photograph and I couldn't get the color correct. The fabric is more like this (I know. The color is really off on my picture.)
So instead of framing my precious selvage, I'll probably incorporate it into a cool bag, maybe like this one, because the weight of this fabric would be perfect. And Tammy is now carrying it at Marmalade Fabrics! In both colorways, Dawn and Dusk.
But I couldn't decide which I liked the best. I love the tulip and frond designs in the Dawn colorway:
So I'm just getting some of everything!
